Heather Jasmin Presents on the KSC CALL Program -  9/1/2010
Heather Jasmin, director of the KSC continuing Education Program, talked about the KSC courses and lectures in the CALL program - as well as the $5.95 all-you-can-eat lunch!


Deb Ganley Talks about the Children's Museum -  8/25/2010

Deb Ganley, President of the Board of Directors for the Cheshire Children’s Museum, spoke to the club about their mission and plans for the future. Located in the Keene area, the Museum will offer many hands-on interactive activities for young children. Deb discussed many of the particular attractive exhibits for kids and it really looks like a winner.

Highway Clean-up at the Chesterfield Gorge -  8/21/2010
On Saturday, August 21, club members volunteer to clean-up a 2 - mile section of Rt. 9 between Keene and Brattleboro, VT. This is an ongoing club project which we perform every several months - in good weather.

Alice Bernet speaks to the club about the Village Poultry Project in Togo, Africa.


Elise Kuder and the Apple Hill Center -  6/16/2010
Elise Kuder,, violinist for the Apple Hill String Quartet, enthralled the club with a wide-ranging discussion of the Center. the Spring Quartet, their upcoming summer program, and several violin pieces she played for us. WOW!


Jennifer Allen Awarded Kiwanis Scholarship -  6/9/2010
On behalf of the Keene Kiwanis Club, Don Flibotte awarded Jennifer a $1,000 scholarship to attend KSC.


Sam Hawkes discusses the Options at the Keene Community Music Center -  6/9/2010
Sam Hawkes gave the club a detailed overview of the philosophy and educational programs available for students of all ages in the Keene area.


Fast Friends by Ron Belkin -  5/19/2010
Ron Belkin, member of the Fast Friends Board of Directors in Swanzey, gave an excellent overview of their greyhound adoption process and the doggy daycare options that they make available to the Cheshire County community.


Curt Heiber Explains the Local housing Needs -  5/12/2010
Curt Heiber, CEO of the Keene housing Authority, spoke to the club about the need for affordable housing in the Monadnock region.


Don Primrose Speaks to the Club -  4/21/2010
Don Primrose, the organizer of the Keene "100 Nights Warming Shelter", spoke to the club about the homeless situation in Keene.


Circle K Kelly Manning Talks About Her El Salvador Volunteering -  3/31/2010
KSC Circle K member Kelly Manning gave an excellent presentation about her recent volunteering in El Salvador.


Kiwanis Key Club Prom was a real winner -  3/19/2010

To all of you senior citizens who did not attend the Senior Prom Night put on by the Key Club at Keene High School on Friday, you missed a really good time.

There were many young people working on the project and having fun at the same time. Some of them learned the cha-cha thanks to a senior citizen that went to the prom. The music was from the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s. Some was recorded and some was a live student

Keene KSC Circle K Earns Awards in Concord

At the February NE Annual Circle K Convention in Concord, NH, the Keene State College Circle K club was awarded several high honors. The KSC club received the First Place Silver award for overall club achievement.  The Keene, NH club received the First Place award for Best Sponsoring Kiwanis Club in New England. And, Keene club advisor to the Circle K club, Mary McEntee, received the Distinguished Faculty Member Award.

Yvonne Goldsberry Discusses CMC-DH Keene's Vision 20/20 -  2/17/2010
In an engaging presentation, Yvonne Goldsberry, Senior Director of Community Health at CMC-DH Keene discussed the hospital’s goal of making Cheshire County the healthiest county in America by 2020. With lots of examples, she outlined the specific action goals of how, by all of us working together, we can make this happen.


Club Serves Fried Dough at Ice Festival -  2/6/2010
The club resurrected its fried dough technology and served the city delicious fried dough at the February Keene Ice Festival.

Club Members Serve Dinner -  1/12/2010
Every month, our club members serve dinner to needy Keene residents at the city's Community Kitchen and have fun doing it!


Sara Mann, Slyvan Learning, Addresses the Club -  1/6/2010
Sara Mann, Center Director of the Keene Sylvan Learning Center spoke to the club about Sylvan's enthusiastic teachers and their commitment to tutoring learners of all ages and capabilities based on their specific individual needs.


Club Winds Down An Excellent 2009 -  12/30/2009
Our last meeting of the year was an appropriately relaxing and enjoyable one. About a dozen members met at the Pub for a casual a la carte dining experience and convivial conversation. We conducted no business – just a friendly get together. It was really nice to just sit and talk with one another
