Keene
Serving the Children of the World

The Keene Kiwanians Welcome You!

The Kiwanis Club of Keene New Hampshire is a service organization comprised of caring men and women from all walks of life. Our objective is to bring aid to children in need. The majority of our efforts benefit children in this community. A portion of the funds we raise go to help meet Kiwanis International objectives which focus on the special needs of young children from prenatal development to age five. We serve by sponsoring fund raising activities, which provide monetary support for children’ programs and through personal involvement in the giving of our time and
skills. Anyone interested in serving others will feel very welcome here. If you would like to see why we do what we do, click here.

Jodi Forcier Receives"Kiwanian of The Year" Award

Kiwanis President Jodi Forcier was recognized as our club’s Kiwanian of the Year for her outstanding leadership so far above and beyond what one would expect from a sitting president. She not only drives our club through our paces but goes beyond the imaginable in doing much of the actual “work” involved in making things happen. She truly puts 110% into all that she does for our club. She is always looking for new ideas and activities, fundraisers, and community service projects. In truth, there is little in our club that Jodi has not had a hand in.

Jodi's numerous efforts include: making all of the cards and spreadsheets for tracking possible donors for Gator Golf and the Antique Dealers Show; making two separate books for the Gator Golf and Antique Dealer shows with ads and text; designing and repeatedly sending all the members reminders to solicit ads and giving us new copies of the ad solicitation forms; recruiting several of our program speakers and even dragging some of her own bees to a meeting and giving a presentation on bee keeping; soliciting the locations for our Gator Golf events; obtaining free publicity on the Monadnock Radio Group stations for our events; securing hour long interviews on Channel 8 for our president and most recently the Key Club advisor at MRHS; participating on interclub visits; making pies to raffle off at our pre-Thanksgiving meeting; bringing in two new members; attending all of the Fund Raising Committee meetings and more importantly taking on difficult assignments. Jodi knows virtually everyone in Keene and Swanzey and can make a personal connection for our club with virtually any kind of business or non—profit in our community.

She is an absolute whirlwind. How she keeps herself on pace is beyond imagination. Jodi’s participation in our club carries an emotional component also. She lives and breathes Kiwanis. You can feel her enthusiasm at every new initiative that a member proposes. You can feel her excitement at every positive thing we accomplish. You can feel her disappointment when the club falls short of a goal. You can see her physical reaction and enthusiastic twitch when she is excited about a project. She truly puts her heart and soul into every club endeavor.

While it is unusual for a president to be nominated as our Outstanding Member, this is a well warranted exception in recognition of all that she does!

Jodi is not just our president. She is indeed the Outstanding Kiwanian of 2010!

4th Annual Keene Kiwanis Antique Show and Sale on June 26th was a Grand Success!!!

This event was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Keene and is a major effort of ours to raise funds for charitable endeavors focused on the young people of the Monadnock Region. This was our fourth consecutive show and sale and it is the largest independent antique dealer sale in southwestern New Hampshire. This year we hosted 33 professional antique dealers from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont.
