Asheulot Concerts Brings Chamber Music to Kiwanis Meeting - 09/13/2017

The founding partners of Ashuelot Concerts, Nicholas Burns and Louisa Stonehill, spoke at our meeting this week and shared their love of classical Chamber Music.  Louisa played a Bach piece for us at the beginning of their presentation.

Louisa and Nicholas believe that Chamber Music has the power to touch, transform and inspire anyone who experiences it live. Ashuelot Concerts aims to bring the sounds of world-class performers to Keene, giving heartfelt performances of narrative programs, accompanied by insightful explanation and education outreach. Keene Kiwanis Travel to Peterborough for an Interclub Lunch - 09/13/2017

We had a wonderful visit with the Peterborough Kiwanis Club on Wednesday, September 13th. The Peterborough Club meets at Scott-Farrar Assisted Living in Peterborough.  We joined them for a tasty lunch and caught up with old and new friends from Peterborough.  They are gearing up for their yard sale on October 14th and finalizing plans for organizing all the furniture and items that have been donated to their club for this signature fundraiser.  We shared information about our Car Show happening this Saturday, our successful Golf Tournament held in August and our expanded Kool Wheels bike rodeo.  Seven members from the Kiwanis Club of Keene were able to go and it was worth...

Ditteke Ederveen-Gorman Presents Mindfulness to Our Club - 09/04/2017

Ditteke teaches mindfulness to the students at Fuller School.  She spends 15 minutes in each class each week.  She has discovered that teaching what she calls “taking a brain break” to the youth gives them the tools to manage life challenges.  It helps to teach them healthy boundaries and lets them know that they are in charge of their lives.  Mindfulness allows us to connect with our thoughts; it involves a big belly breath and using meditation to stay in the moment.
